Overview
Step 1. Scan the barcode on each book or media in your library.
The Library Inventory Kit allows you to collect the barcode number of each book or item scanned. Just point this simple barcode reader at the book's barcode and push the scan button. Once the barcode is scanned, the barcode reader captures the data into its memory. You can scan up to 50,000 items before dowloading the data. The data is stored in protected memory, so even if the battery dies, your data is safe. You can wait to download the data to your PC until you are completed. Optionally, you can download collected data at any point in the inventory process. The barcode reader operates using simple AAA alkaline batteries.
Step 2. Download the data from the barcode reader to your PC.
When you are finished scanning, download the data to your PC using the Library Inventory Kit software, and import the data into Excel. This step in performing inventory for your library is simple. Just put the barcode reader into the dock, which is connected to your computer using a USB cable. Click "Upload", and the data instantly shows up on your computer in a Comma Separated Value (CSV) format.
Step 3. Import the data into other programs.
You can now save the data in Excel and are ready to use it as needed for reports.
